Roll Percentage of Weight Per Inch

This diagram represents a 40" roll of paper.  The roll is segmented into 1" increments.

Click anywhere on the circle, then move your mouse over the circular segments of the roll to see the percentage of paper represented in that band of the roll.

As can be seen, the outside circle band contains almost 10% of the paper on the roll, whereas the three innermost circles contain about 1.5% of the paper on the roll.

This indicates that improper handling of the paper roll and damage to the paper nearest the wrapper creates the biggest waste of money.
